I found a Dragon article that gave me some good info, but it didn't seem to have everything I needed. As inexperienced as I am, I would like to learn how to write up a monster in 3e from the idea itself (for example, let's say I wanted to make a Wereoctopus). Monsters, particularly new ones, are one of my favorite things to read about in D&D.
